Patty Kaufman started her photography business in 1987 and began her career photographing wedding, this rapidly moved into a diversified business model to include – Events, Schools, Sports, Dance Studios and High School Seniors. In the course of over three decades, she continued to hone her skills and moved through the transition from film to digital. She charged right into learning and mastering all the new photography software programs as they developed and sharing this knowledge at her professional photography group meetings and providing one on one mentoring of these skills. She believes in the power of technology to accelerate her craft.
Patty has taught preschool classes and is currently working on creating a Pre-K through Kinder photography enrichment class for the students to use the camera as a reinforcement in basic learning skills. She has volunteered at her church to teach Vacation Bible School for K-6th using her camera as an added teaching tool to record skits performed in her class. She also taught a basic skills adult photography workshop through a Tempe based art studio.
Her business provided the necessity to be committed, organized, and provide the logistics to move large amounts of athletes, dancers and students through to be photographed individually and in groups. Her work has been featured on jumbotrons, buildings, billboards, magazines, and business journals. She has worked with nonprofits, for profits, famous (Sugar Ray Leonard, Colais Campbell, Jerry Colangelo, Billy Jean King), not so famous, old, and young and had the time of her life.
