Growing up in Phoenix AZ, around the Maryvale area. The complications of resources didn’t give me many choices, besides dropping out of school or being incarcerated. Felix Moran was in and out of the juvenile system from the ages of 15-17. Once he turned 18, the Arizona Department of Corrections held him until age 21. Felix Moran has been out of prison and jail for the past eleven years. I have assisted in creating a program that has helped juvenile justice involve youth and those passionate about art. I have shared my story and workshops at national conferences and with policymakers. He is now working to empower youth to find their passion and connect them to resources in Arizona.
